Ford EDIS. The Ford EDIS or Electronic Distributorless Ignition System is a computer-controlled ignition system developed by Ford that uses an ignition coil for each pair of cylinders ( wasted spark ). All the coils are placed in a single module called a coilpack.
Ford says that when the crankshaft keyway is positioned at roughly the 11 o’clock position, the number one cylinder should be at TDC. Before you can remove the timing chain, the front cover has to come off the engine. Then you have to remove the crank sensor pulse wheel. Note the sensor wheel’s location before you remove it.
Hence, if there is some problem with the crankshaft position sensor of the car, your car might have alternative issues while starting the car, or your car might not start at all. 3. Rough Idle.
