Ecto1. ' The Ecto-1 is a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura (limousine style windows) Duplex (hearse / ambulance combination) used in the 1984 film Ghostbusters and other Ghostbusters fiction. This vehicle was purchased by Ray Stantz for the relatively high price of $4800 (over $9400 when scaled up for inflation) in a poor state of repair.

This version is not a 100% true to the original since there are some compromises I’ve StringentEMS regulations introduced in the late 1970s would eventually force the change to van-based ambulances – the last Cadillac commercial chassis was delivered to Miller-Meteor in 1976. They only built on the Cadillac commercial chassis in this era. They did not use other manufacturer's chassis. No Buick, no Chevrolet. People have kitbashed the Ectomobile kits with the Revell '59 Cadillacs.
TheEcto-1's base has a convoluted history. The A.J. Miller Company made hearses and ambulances, while the Wayne Corporation made buses. Until Wayne Corporation bought A.J. Miller. So, in 1959, Cadillac released the Miller-Meteor. parkplusio
