There seems to be a lot of effort on this site going into diverting crankcase fumes however on an indirect diesel I have these have caused no problem since fixin' the EGR valve some 50K miles ago inlet tract is clean as a whistle just a hint of oil. Any comments welcome. cheers Nic

A few years ago we found out that Canadian carb cleaner doesn't work nearly as well as the American stuff when a friend of mine used to clean intakes when doing cam welds on V8 Taurus SHO's (1996-1999).} ^{I spent today cleaning. The amount of buildup was pretty bad. The EGR is done, I cleaned it with hand tools and alot of carb cleaner. I ran several cans of degreaser, carb cleaner, brake cleaner through the manifold. I scraped and scraped with various tools. A ton of gunk came out, but it still obviously needs more cleaning.}
